Kimbo Slice vs Chuck Liddell

Well it seems that Chuck Liddell has called Kimbo Slice out with some "fighting" words.

Here is what Liddell has to say about Slice...

According to Chuck Liddell, Kimbo Slice is training and learning MMA, but he hasn’t done anything to earn the recognition he gets.

"Kimbo Slice is one of those guys who doesn’t have any ground game," Liddell told The Sun. "He’s training and he’s learning but he’s been built up as such a big star, and that’s the thing that bothers me."

"People talk about him like he’s the next great thing when he really hasn’t done anything. He’s been built up because of the internet and him beating a bunch of guys on the street."

As you probably already know, Kimbo’s initial fame came from underground fighting videos posted on YouTube and other video sharing websites. Fighting on the streets of Miami, Kimbo almost always dominated his opponents in the bareknuckle fights.

"I could make some impressive knockout videos too if you let me walk outside and just punch people and knock them out - "hey you, come fight!" Liddell told The Sun. "Fuck we can make a highlight reel tomorrow and go round beating people up and talking about it. We could just go up to people and start dropping them. Wow!"

Kimbo has fired back saying he will fight and beat anyone, including Chuck Liddell. He says he has much respect and love for all MMA fighters but he will fight any of them, anytime, anywhere! He says he is tired of the talk and if you have a problem with him you know where to find him.

Personally I think that at this point Chuck Liddell probably is the better fighter. He has proven himself against the best of the best and he is definitely one of the best MMA fighters in the world. However, if he tried standing toe-2-toe with Kimbo Slice I think Kimbo could take him. I doubt he would try that though.

I also think that Kimbo is naturally a damn good fighter. Nobody could dispute that. He can hit like a ton of bricks and can obviously take hits as well. He is working on his ground game and getting better all the time. Give him another year or so and he will be right up at the top.

Then, I think he would be able to beat Chuck Liddell in a true MMA fight.

What do you think? Chuck Liddell or Kimbo Slice... Who would win?

Kimbo is a natural fighter, and I have much respect for what I have seen. He was forged on the streets, but as you saw in the video of him vs. the Sean Gannon, you saw Kimbo get winded. Now that was before he was training pro MMA training with by Bas Ruten.... Kimbo has only been doing that for just a little more than a 1 year, and I am sorry but this is not enough time for him to beat Chuck Liddell. Chuck has had problems of his own lately being quite the party boy and a lack of training that led him to get knocked out by Quinton Jackson who ended up loosing a 5 round decision to the judges, since I don't feel Quinton actually lost to Forrest Griffin. I thought it was a draw and should have went to a 6th round sudden death winner take all, but the UFC doesn't have those rules. So how does Slice, um make that Mr. Slice beat a guy like Chuck Liddell, Quinton Jackson, or that caliber of MMA athlete, well I think the road starts with Tito Ortiz and Randy Coture. If Slice were to to enlist their help in training him, he would have a ground game so strong to match fighting skills, but keep in mind Chuck has wrestled for years and was a division 1 wrestler... It will take more than a year of training for Kimbo to even come close to the ground skills needed to beat Chuck and both of these guys have serious KO power, so if a fight did go down in the next few months the only way Kimbo would win is by a KO. You also have to fator the age of the fighter.... Kimbo was born in 1974 so he is now 34 going on 35 and for MMA super athletes that is close to retirement age. Kimbo has (if he has good DNA) maybe 3 to 4 years in this sport. He is an awesome example of accomplishment, and I give him respect, but if he wants to fight MMA he is going to have to earn every ounce of it.
